Welcome Advocates for Social Justice & Development
The Advocates for Social Justice & Development Sierra Leone (ASJD-SL), which was formerly, Advocates for Vulnerable Aid (AVA) was established as a community-based organization of indigenous volunteers that squarely focus on programmes that enhance the development of the vulnerable in most deprived communities around post-war Sierra Leone.
Since its establishment in 2002, the ASJD has been a civic society activist and firebrand much preoccupied with the implementation of tangible projects in key are-as that border on advocacy for good governance and human rights against social injustice, human capacity development for the under-privileged and agriculture for food security in the Kono District.
ASJD OFFICE IN KOIDU CITY, KONO DISTRICT
District. It has provided techno-vocational and entrepreneurial skills training for the socially disoriented youths and the vulnerable women including widows/ single parents and battered wives. Between 2002 and 2014, the organization had implemented various projects on
- Improved Community Alert System through active case finding on Ebola ;
- Human and Social Development;
- Youth Empowerment and Employment support;
- Education For All (EFA) & Education For Change (EFC);
- Livelihood Enhancement and Assets Development (LEAD);
- Child Protection (support Teenage mothers, child miners, Street children and sponsorship scheme to children in marginalized communities.) etc.
